INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE COVER FOR INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES

BUPA International's Lifeline Cover is a flexible product that can be tailored to suit your individual and family health needs.

As a member of BUPA International, you will have access to their multi-lingual helpline 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

When you join you receive a personalised membership card which lists all the essential emergency numbers you will need, so you will only ever be a phone call away from help and advice. If you or someone under your policy does require medical treatment, BUPA International will do everything possible to arrange treatment in one of our comfortable, well-equipped network of hospitals. Bills can usually be settled directly with these hospitals, saving you from the worry of payment upfront and too much paperwork.

As a member of Lifeline, you will also have free, confidential access to BUPA's members-only website. This site allows you to access your membership information, download claim forms and pre-authorise treatment, track the status of your claims and remaining benefits, access the list of participating hospitals, and gain useful medical information and health tips for living abroad.

In addition to these benefits, three levels of coverage and some optional extras are offered depending on your budget, location and insurance needs.

LIFELINE ESSENTIAL

This scheme covers the basics concentrating on hospital treatment. It covers any treatment received during a hospital stay or as a daycare patient. Essential will ensure you and your family have cover when you need it most - at the expensive and most stressful part of the treatment.

LIFELINE CLASSIC

In addition to the benefits covered in the Essential plan, this scheme provides cover for any specialist medical treatment or diagnosis. It includes cover for out-patient consultations, diagnostic tests and in-patient hospital stays.

LIFELINE GOLD

A comprehensive scheme that covers both the in-patient and out-patient treatments covered in the above plans. In addition to these benefits, Gold also covers family doctor treatment as well as the prescription medication that often follows a visit to the doctor's surgery. Home nursing and emergency dentistry is also covered.

OPTIONAL COVER IN THE USA

To ensure that you only pay for the cover you really need, you can choose whether or not you want to include the USA in your Lifeline insurance cover.

Please Note: Due to the extremely high cost of healthcare treatments in North America, coverage which includes the USA is generally an average of three times the cost of cover for other parts of the world. Therefore, unless you will be spending significant amounts of time in the United States, we recommend that you DO NOT select this option.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer BUPA International Lifeline to anyone who is normally resident in the USA.
